CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

There are two kinds of conditional sentences: real and unreal. Real Conditional describes real-life situations. Unreal Conditional describes unreal, imaginary situations. Although the various conditional forms might seem quite abstract at first, they are actually some of the most useful structures in English and are commonly included in daily conversations.

Conditional Sentences (Type 1)
Use : contitional sentence type 1 refer to the future. An action in the future will only happen if a certain condition is fulfilled by that time. We don't know for sure whether the condition actually will be fulfilled or not, but the conditions seems rather realistic - so we think it is likely to happen.
IF + S + PRESENT TENSE, S + FUTURE TENSE
Or
SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE, IF + SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

Example :
1) If they thirsty , they will drink.
2) If I have much money , I will buy a bicycle.
3) If we rich , we will buy a house.
4) If a clever , I will so a teacher.
5) If he get up early , he will go to school on time.
6) If you work hard , You will pass the exam.
7) If you are late , she will be angry.
8) He will not go to the picnic if it rains.
9) If Sally comes , I will give her the message.
10) If you eat an ice-cream , I will have a hot chocolate.
11) If she needs a computer , her brother will give her his computer.
12) If we do not have time this afternoon, we will meet tomorrow.
13) He will talk to her if you do not want to do it.
14) You will not win the game if you do not know the rules.
15) If you go out with your friends tonight , I will watch the football match on TV.
16) I will earn a lot of money if I get that job.
17) If she does not hurry , we will miss the bus.


Conditional Sentences (Type 2)
Use : Conditional sentence type 2 refer to situations in the present. An action could happen if the present situation were different. I don’t really the situation to change, however. I just imagine ,,what would if...”

If +SIMPLE PAST TENSE + SIMPLE PAST FUTURE TENSE
OR
SIMPLE PAST FUTURE, IF + SIMPLE PAST TENSE

Example :
1) If you studied hard , you would pass the exam.
Fact : You don’t study hard.
2) If my sister made cake , I would eat much.
Fact : I don’t eat much because my sister doesn’t make cake.
3) If I had birthday party , I would invite to my friends.
Fact : I don’t invite to my friends because I don’t birthday party
4) If she knew my phone , She would call me.
Fact :She doesn’t call me because she don’t know my phone.
5) If they were sick , They would go to the hospital.
Fact : Their don’t go to the hospital because their are don’t sick.
6) If my aunt were car , My aunt would travel to Surabaya.
Fact :My aunt doesn’t travel to Surabaya because my aunt doesn’t go to car.
7) If I passed the exam , I would continue to university.
Fact : I do not pass the exam right now so I do not go to university.
8) If I were him , I would take the job.
Fact : I don’t took the job because I go to him.
9) If I were a teacher , I would teach them.
Fact : I don’t teach them because I don’t go to teacher.
10) If he tried harder , he would reach his goals.
Fact : He don’t reach his goals because he don’t try harder.


Conditional Sentences (Type 3)
Use : Conditional Sentences Type III refer to situations in the past. An action could have happened in the past if a certain condition had been fulfilled. Things were different then, however. We just imagine, what would have happened if the situation had been fulfilled.

If + PAST PERFECT TENSE+ FUTURE PAST PERFECT TENSE
OR
PAST FUTURE PERFECT TENSE,IF + PAST PERFECT TENSE

Example :
1) If you came home earlier , I would make you a cake
Fact : I didn’t make you a cake because you didn’t come home earlier.
2) If they had sing a song , They would have show to my friends.
Fact : They didn’t show to my friends because they didn’t sing a song.
3) If he had fallen in love , Sister would have said to him.
Fact : Sister didn’t said to him because he fallen in love.
4) If he had pound her , he would have gotten money.
Fact : He didn’t gotten money because he don’t pound her.
5) If you had finished study , You would have wacthed television.
Fact : You didn’t finished study because you didn’t wacth television.
6) If I had much money , I would have lent to me.
Fact : I didn’t leav to me because I didn’t much money.
7) If you had saved your money , You would have been rich.
Fact : You didn’t save your money because you didn’t been rich.
8) If Budi had studied hard , he would have passed the exam.
Fact : Budi didn’t study hard , he didn’t pass the exam.
9) If I had passed the exam , I would have continued to university.
Fact : I did not pass the time , I did not go to university.
10) If She had come to my house , She would have meet her friend, Rita.
Fact : She didn’t meet her friend Rita because she didn’t came to my house.
11) If we had listened to the radio , we would have heard the news.
Fact : We did not listened to the radio , we did not heard the news.
12) If you had switched on the lights , you would not have fallen over the chair.
Fact : You don’t switch on the lights , you wouldn’t have fallen over the chair.
